LONDON, ON February 4, 2014 - Following an extensive due diligence review, Pillar Nonprofit Network is not proceeding with the purchase of the Kingsmill’s building in downtown London.
Work over the past three months confirms the building requires more renovations than initially estimated, and is not viable for this project.
“Pillar Nonprofit Network remains committed to the development of a Social Innovation Shared Space for London,” says Michelle Baldwin, Executive Director, Pillar Nonprofit Network. “We are continuing to actively explore other options that will further the community’s request for such a space.”
Pillar Nonprofit Network has completed a robust feasibility and business plan for a social innovation shared space for London in partnership with Emerging Leaders. The Social Innovation Shared Space (SISS) will offer nonprofits, social enterprises, social purpose businesses and entrepreneurs a chance to co-work and incubate new ideas to create social change.
After significant community consultation, business modeling, tenant commitments and financing, Pillar is excited to continue to find the right home for London’s first Social Innovation Shared Space.
