Senior Resident Care Worker

Mission Services of London is a non-profit social service agency dedicated to serving residents of London and Middlesex County with compassion and dignity. Men’s Mission at Mission Services of London has a full-time opening for a Senior Resident Care Worker. The Senior Resident Care Worker is responsible for assisting the Direct Care Supervisor with the day-to-day operation of the Men’s Mission Shelter and reports directly to the Direct Care Supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide immediate leadership and support during crisis situations, including de-escalation and safety planning.
  • Support communication and coordination between residents and Rehabilitation Case Workers.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to Resident Care Workers, including training and orientation.
  • Help prepare staff schedules, manage coverage, and assist with payroll-related tasks.
  • Respond to resident needs and safety concerns through appropriate intervention and referrals.
  • Assist in developing and supporting a positive, team oriented work environment.
  • Complete required documentation, monitor records, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Support building safety and security, including safety rounds, bed checks, and emergency response.

Qualifications:

  • Community college diploma in Human Services, Social Work, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a social service agency.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Supervisory experience is considered an asset.

Position Details:

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week.
