About TAP Centre for Creativity

Previously operating as The ARTS Project, TAP is driven to support emerging artists in multiple disciplines through quality facilities and programming. With multiple gallery spaces, a black-box theatre, multi-use workshop and co-working space, and resident artist studios all under one roof, our creative hub is open for artists and the public to overlap, participate, and experience how creativity can transform us and our community.

This is a full-time position at 35 hours per week at $20 per hour with opportunity for growth. The position will require evening and weekend hours. Event Coordination and Support
This individual is responsible for implementing and facilitating all aspects of programming and events. They will participate in program development and new initiatives to assist with the growth of operations. The main responsibilities of this position includes:

Managing event logistics, room bookings, guest lists, and volunteer team. 

Tracking data, organizing files, and updating records.

Preparing spaces for programming, ensuring materials and equipment is available. Preparing communications related to event facilitation.

Assessing the need for volunteer support to enhance program/service delivery.

Recruiting, interviewing and training candidates for volunteer roles with the goal of growing the volunteer team and maintaining strong relationships with these key partners

Responsible for all volunteer scheduling for front of house and event support, this includes maintaining inventory or material needs for volunteers to effectively do their job (e.g. bar inventory and event supplies)

Education/ Experience: 

Post secondary degree/diploma in Administration, Non-Profit Management or Theatre Arts Technical Production and/or a minimum of two years experience in administration or event management in a not-for-profit organization or a related field.

Volunteer, event, and/ or project management or related experience is required. 

Strategic approach to event facilitation with strong organizational skills and problem solving.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, data management and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Client and/or customer service experience is required.

Smart Serve certification is required. 

Knowledge of theatre production and lighting equipment is an asset.

Strong work ethic and ability to work both as part of a collaborative team and independently.

Awareness of and sensitivity to diversity and inclusion, including demonstrated experience working successfully with individuals diverse in age, culture, gender, sexual identity and abilities.

Passion for and understanding of London’s cultural community. The ability to create a warm and welcoming environment for patrons, volunteers and venue users; and meaningfully engage volunteers in various roles.
