Make & Mend: Little Makers, Big Impact is a hands-on family workshop delivered by Sustainable Fashion Week Canada and Musey. Through playful exploration, children learn how clothing and textiles can be repaired, reused, and transformed rather than discarded. Participants will become "textile detectives," learn basic mending skills such as sewing buttons and patching fabric, and create their own upcycled keepsake using reclaimed materials. The workshop encourages creativity, problem-solving, and environmental stewardship while introducing concepts of circular fashion in an age-appropriate way. Designed for children ages 6–12 and their caregivers, the program supports STEAM learning through design thinking, hands-on making, and sustainable innovation. Participants leave with practical skills, a finished project, and a deeper understanding of how small actions can make a big impact.
