About Ava Val

Toronto comedian Ava Val brings fearless honesty and infectious energy to every stage she steps on.

Known for transforming deeply personal experiences into laughter that bridges vulnerability and joy, Ava’s comedy is candid, physical, playful, and wildly engaging. Her acclaimed special So Brave captured the humour and heartache of early gender transition, while her latest project, Face to Face, offers an intimate confessional recorded just days before her facial feminization surgery — exploring identity, love, transformation, and self-discovery with sharp wit and disarming charm.

Ava’s style is high-energy and improvisational. She often speaks openly about her experience as a trans woman, balancing raw vulnerability with plucky, joyful chaos. A master of crowd work and spontaneity, she approaches every set with curiosity and an infectious sense of fun.

Inspired by performers like Suzy Izzard and Dane Cook, and shaped by a love of physical comedy and improv, Ava brings a unique mix of silliness, boldness, and humanity that leaves audiences laughing — and feeling something real.

She has performed across Canada, including a standout appearance at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, and is a beloved regular at Comedy Bar in Toronto.
