Storytelling is a centrepiece of our communications strategy in the community impact sector, and our collective understanding of what makes a “good” story continues to evolve. Recently, we have been learning the ways in which our stories can reinforce harmful stereotypes and assumptions, and the practice of ethical storytelling has gained momentum. We also know that sharing stories informed directly by lived experience is a powerful advocacy tool that sparks empathy, understanding, and social change.

The effects of climate change are widespread, leading to long-term social, economic, and environmental impacts. For mid-sized Canadian cities, some of the major environmental impacts include food insecurity, extreme weather, and environmental pollution.
