Let's Create: Framed Embroidery

Create a memento of somewhere close to our heart. This hands-on activity let’s you embroider an image of our log house to be displayed in a frame.

No experience necessary! We provide all the materials, and we’ll walk you through the process of transferring your image onto fabric and embroidering it, step-by-step during the workshop.

You also get to take home your embroidery hoop and needle.

Let's Create: Tin Punched Canister

Are you ready to make some noise? This hands-on activity has you tin punching a metal canister. Keep your desk, purse, or car tidy as these decorated mini boxes are perfect for storing cards, bobby pins, or other small items that always seem to get everywhere!

No experience necessary! We’ll walk you step-by-step through the process during the workshop.

Let's Create: Felted Cactus (Pincushion)

Watch out for the pointy bits! This hands-on activity has you spicing up your office space or sewing projects! Learn to do some basic felting by creating a felted cactus that can double as a pin cushion. We are making the one with the pins, the other cactus is for inspiration.

No experience necessary! We’ll provide all the things you’ll need and walk you step-by-step through the process during the workshop.

Let's Create: Rustic Plant Holder

This hands-on activity lets you create a rustic, wall mounted, plant holder. We provide all the materials, you get a great way to show off your plants!

No experience necessary! We’ll walk you step-by-step through the process during the workshop. Plants not included but examples of how to use the mason jars to hold your plants will be provided.

TREA How-To Workshops: Composting

Topic: Composting yes, but effective microorganisms can have other uses too! 

Climate change is here, we see the impacts as extreme weather events become more frequent, and the temperature rises. The time to take action is now. The public is invited to attend the Thames Region Ecological Association’s FREE how-to workshop series on taking personal action against climate change. Reducing the amount of greenhouse gases we emit is key to preventing climate change and supporting future generations.
