Youth Opportunities Unlimited (YOU) is seeking values-driven, community minded candidates to fill current vacancies on our Board of Directors. If you’ve ever attended a YOU Breakfast, enjoyed a YOU Made It product, hired a youth participant, been a youth participant or followed YOU’s work in supporting youth experiencing homelessness / housing insecurity, you will know how vital and innovative our services are. This is an opportunity to share your governance expertise and/or your lived experience by helping shape this organization’s ongoing governance and development.

Who we are

Since 1982, YOU has helped lead youth in London and Middlesex County toward success. We believe that investing in youth and strong communities go hand in hand, and we know that many youth need guidance and support to reach their potential.

Approximately 3,600 youth between the ages of 16-30 access the system of supports available at YOU each year. Whether they are in need of basic needs and housing, access to physical, mental or dental health care, or education and employment supports, our services are designed to help youth lead positive lives.

Mission: YOU supports youth to build skills, confidence and independence to reach their potential.

Vision: A community where youth are embraced and will thrive.

Values: In all that we do, we remain accountable, collaborative, compassionate, courageous, innovative and persistent.

About the role

YOU is seeking new Directors to join our governing Board and help us implement our new strategic plan.

Successful applicants will embody our Mission, Vision and Values and bring passion, commitment, and innovative thinking to support our collaborative and inclusive approach to community service. As a board member, you’ll be prepared to contribute to vigorous discussions, current analysis and planning that will help provide strong governance and stewardship to this multiservice, dynamic organization.
