Education
- Completion of a college diploma or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution in a parks and recreation, marketing, tourism, events planning, hospitality or a related field;
- Extensive knowledge in MS 365 including Office;
- Must have a current, satisfactory Criminal Records & Judicial Matters Check;
- Valid Drivers’ License required;
- Valid first aid and CPR certificate.
Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
- A minimum of (5) five years working experience in a recreational setting or tourism;
- A minimum of (3) three years of people management experience and/or leading project teams is required;
- Proven experience with organizing and promoting large-scale special events is required;
- Extensive customer service experience;
- Extensive experience working with social media platforms is required;
- Experience in funding and grant proposals is considered an asset;
- Experience in cash handling, revenue collection and reconciliation are required;
- Excellent computer skills are required;
- Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills;
- Able to identify needs or requests and to provide advice, teach or train;
- Must work some evenings, weekends and statutory holidays to support programs and special events
Compensation and Other Information
- $36.88 to $38.36 (starting wage) to $44.88 per hour;
- Full time, 35 hours per week;
- Comprehensive Group Benefits, Pension Plan (OMERS) and Vacation package;
- Free access to UTRCA Conservation Areas (Fanshawe, Pittock and Wildwood).
