At Humana Community Services, you’ll contribute to the financial stability of a multi-site, mission-driven organization serving adults, youth and their families. As Manager of Finance, you will focus on day-to-day accounting operations, financial accuracy, and compliance, working closely with, and reporting to the Director of Finance.
This role is well suited to a hands-on accounting professional who values structure, precision, and strong internal controls in a not-for-profit environment.
Compensation
Salary range: $61,243 – $ 86,994 annually (commensurate with experience and qualifications).

Location: London, Ontario (Head office)
This position works primarily on-site to support daily financial operations, internal controls, payroll oversight, and collaboration with administrative, program and leadership teams. Some flexibility for occasional remote work may be considered based on operational needs and at the discretion of the Director of Finance.
Schedule
Full-time, 40 hours per week. Additional hours may be required during month-end and audit periods.

What You’ll Do
As Manager of Finance, you will manage the organization’s daily accounting functions and support accurate financial reporting and compliance activities under the direction of the Director of Finance.
Your work will include:
Accounting Operations

Managing day-to-day accounting processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and reconciliations

Reviewing monthly bank reconciliations and monitoring cash balance

Supporting month-end and quarter-end close processes
-
Maintaining accurate general ledger records and supporting documentation
-
Ensuring appropriate audit trails and adherence to internal control procedures
Reporting & Compliance Support

Assisting in preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements

Preparing HST filings and other routine statutory reports
-
Supporting funder reporting requirements as directed

Preparing audit working papers and responding to auditor requests in collaboration with the Director of Finance

Supporting external accounting firm with T3010 preparation and related regulatory filings
Budgeting & Financial Monitoring

Assisting with annual budget compilation and template preparation

Supporting variance analysis and routine financial monitoring

Preparing internal reports for program managers as requested
Payroll & Benefits Oversight

Overseeing semi-monthly payroll processing through ADP

Reviewing payroll reports, ROEs, and year-end reporting (T4s, T4As, etc.)

Supporting administration of benefits and pension enrolments
Team Support & Process Improvement

Supervising finance department staff and ensuring continuity of daily operations

Maintaining process documentation and internal procedures

Providing backup support during absences

Identifying opportunities for operational efficiencies within finance processes
What You Bring
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
-
CPA designation completed or actively in progress (required)

Minimum 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience
-
Strong working knowledge of full-cycle accounting

Experience in the Canadian not-for-profit sector preferred

Experience with SAGE 300 and ADP payroll systems

Strong Excel and financial systems proficiency

Solid understanding of internal controls and CRA compliance requirements

Demonstrated experience overseeing or coordinating the work of accounting or payroll staff, including review, delegation, and quality control

Strong attention to detail and ability to meet recurring deadlines

Professional judgment and ability to manage confidential information
