Manager of Donor Engagement

The Manager of Donor Experience is a professional fundraising position at Humane Society  London & Middlesex (HSLM) reporting to the Director of Development.  

Using their considerable skills and experience, the Manager will create data-driven strategies  designed to optimize programs in the area of pipeline development, event management, tracking and stewardship. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching, identifying,  cultivating, soliciting and stewarding donors in a multi-faceted portfolio. HSLM seeks to  optimize, grow and expand our fundraising and community engagement efforts and the  Manager  will play an integral role in growing our capacity and managing our database and financial components of the Fund Development team.

Key Role Responsibilities Include:  

Implementation of Pipeline Development Programs  

● Develop and advance prospect identification, engagement and solicitation strategies  for individual donors with a focus on the growth and sustainment of our PAW monthly  donor program  

● Identify prospects and prepare proposals to support and participate in the solicitation of  major giving donors at both the individual and corporate level  

● Refine and execute corporate employee giving programs  

● Ensure donor data integrity, including tracking of gifts and moves management  

Lead Event Design and Implementation 

● Oversee annual fundraising and community engagement events for the organization 

● Manage staff and volunteers to successfully achieve event objectives 

● Engage current and prospective donors and partners to increase community awareness  

and participation in major events, seeking to grow revenue and participation year over  year 

Lead Donor Stewardship Efforts  

● Responsible for overseeing donor stewardship matrix implementation  

● Effectively train and manage volunteers and staff partners supporting revenue  generation and stewardship efforts, including but not limited to: shelter programs and  events, corporate volunteer engagement, shelter tours and donor experiences 

Manage the Integrated Fundraising Strategy  

● Oversee multichannel direct and digital fundraising strategies and tactics to achieve  organizational fundraising goals  

● Donor segmentation and strategic annual and monthly appeal oversight including  direct mail and online appeals 

Effective Management of Staff  

● Participate in management of staff with an eye to developing a culture within the team of  accountability for results, donor-centricity, teamwork, customer service and continuous  learning 

● Lead team members who contribute to marketing and communications functions,  ensuring timely and accurate messaging, compelling content and strategic ideas are  conveyed in alignment with organizational priorities and mission  

What You Bring to the Role:  

● Completion of post secondary education in a relevant discipline from a recognized  academic institution  

● 5+ years of progressive, relevant experience in organizational advancement, fundraising,  customer service and volunteer management  

● A successful track record with revenue generation, working with cross-functional teams,  and partners to hit revenue targets with a strong understanding of fundraising and the  entire donor lifecycle  

● Superior analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data information and to  communicate it to a variety of audiences  

● Demonstrated track record in the development and implementation of targeted  fundraising approaches, designed to achieve growth objectives, maintaining effective  cost ratios  

● Demonstrated project management, budgeting and financial management skills  

● Superior verbal and written communications skills, ability to convey big ideas with  passion  

● Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office) and experience working with fundraising/  relationship databases, especially Donor Perfect, Constant Contact or Canada Helps.

Compensation:  

● $60,000 - $80,000 annual salary, dependent on experience and skillset.

● Health benefits package after 3 months of employment

● 3 weeks paid vacation
