The Alice Saddy Association is seeking a full-time, permanent Director of Finance & Administration to join our Executive Leadership Team due to an upcoming retirement.
This senior leadership role is responsible for the organization’s financial sustainability, governance support, and operational excellence, ensuring strong financial stewardship directly supports high-quality, person-centred services. About the Role
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Finance & Administration is responsible for the overall financial health, accountability, and long-term sustainability of the Alice Saddy Association, the Alice Saddy Foundation, and affiliated partner agencies.
The role provides both strategic and operational leadership across all financial functions, ensuring transparency, compliance, and sound decision-making in support of person-centred services. The Director also oversees the Association’s housing portfolio, including housing subsidies administered in partnership with the City of London, and provides oversight of property maintenance and related expenditures.
As a trusted advisor to the Executive Director and Board of Directors, the Director supports governance, risk management, and organizational planning while fostering a culture of fiscal responsibility and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Executive & Financial Leadership
- Lead all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, payroll, reporting, audits, compliance, internal controls, purchasing oversight, cash flow, and reserve planning
- Provide executive-level oversight across multiple legal entities and funding structures
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the Executive Director and Board on financial performance, risk and sustainability.
- Participate in Board Finance and Audit functions and organizational strategic planning
People Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance team
- Ensure effective performance management, training, succession planning, and cross-coverage
- Build strong working relationships across senior leadership, management, and partner agencies
Compliance, Systems & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation, including the Employment Standards Act, Pay Equity Act, CRA requirements, and MCCSS funding conditions
- Oversee payroll accuracy, statutory reporting, and benefit remittances
- Lead annual external audits and maintain audit and funding readiness
- Oversee financial systems including SAGE and QuickBooks
Strategic Planning & Innovation
- Collaborate with senior leadership on long-term financial strategy and organizational growth
- Support individualized funding models (including Passport) and service expansion analysis
- Provide financial guidance related to workforce planning, benefits, insurance, and organizational risk
- Align financial frameworks with evolving service models and housing initiatives
Qualifications & Experience
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (Accounting designation or advanced certificate preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in a non-profit or developmental services environment
- Strong knowledge of non-profit funding models, payroll, and employment legislation
- Advanced expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Exceptional judgment, discretion, and communication skills
- Ability to manage complexity across multiple entities and priorities
