SARI Therapeutic Riding is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Development Officer. In this vital role, you will be responsible for implementing and managing a diverse range of fundraising programs to support SARI’s therapeutic programs and services, which provide life-changing experiences with horses for individuals with special needs in our community.
As the Development & Social Media Officer, you will focus on grant writing, cultivating major gifts and planned giving, establishing meaningful relationships with donors, and securing significant contributions to support SARI’s long-term goals. You will identify new funding opportunities, write compelling grant proposals, and secure sponsorships from businesses and organizations. Additionally, you will create and execute annual fundraising campaigns, enhance donor engagement strategies, and implement effective donor communication plans to foster long-term support.
The Development & Social Media Officer will manage marketing efforts, including coordinating a strong online presence, designing impactful promotional materials, and engaging the community through creative outreach and social media strategies.
Hours: Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week with occasional weekend and evening requirements
Qualifications:
· Post-secondary education in a related field (i.e. marketing and communication, public relations, program management, fund raising). 2+ years of equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
· Strong organizational and project management skills
· Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on a team
· Independently driven to report on progress and outcomes on developed timelines · Ability to multitask, identify priorities and problem solve to meet deadlines · Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, CRM database programs, Wordpress, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn
