Mission Services of London is a non-profit social service agency dedicated to serving residents of London and Middlesex County with compassion and dignity. Rotholme Family Shelter of Mission Services of London has openings for a Child Activity Worker to organize and facilitate a day camp for children in the shelter.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe, healthy, and inclusive environment while delivering quality child-centered programming aligned with organizational values.
- Plan and implement daily/weekly activities suited to children’s abilities and interests; communicate routines and guidelines clearly.
- Supervise children during programming and off-site trips (e.g., walking, public transit, school bus) and manage sign-in/out procedures.
- Maintain activity areas, supplies, and equipment, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and accountability.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff; role model respectful behavior and address concerns with appropriate team members.
- Complete required documentation, including daily logs, attendance and statistics, and end-of-program reports; perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an Early Childhood Education or Child and Youth Care Diploma program from a recognized college or equivalent.
- Camp Counsellor or Recreational Leadership Experience: 1 year (required).
- Excellent interpersonal, proactive crisis intervention and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work with children in a crisis environment.
- Strong organizational and creativity skills.
Position Details:
- 35 hours per week - Contract: June 29 – Aug 28, 2026
- Compensation: $18.05 per hour
