In this session, participants will identify key trends impacting volunteerism and determine what shifts need to be made for successful recruitment, retention and recognition to occur. Participants will share best practices and new ideas for maintaining a quality volunteer program while proactively addressing current trends and issues.

About the facilitator
Reva Cooper believes strongly in the power of volunteerism to positively change communities and in the need for professional volunteer management to make this happen. Reva is well-known throughout the country as a passionate, experienced and respected volunteer engagement consultant, researcher, writer and trainer. She has written many resources for provincial and national associations including the Skills Plus Tool which is currently one of the most downloaded resources at www.getvolunteering.ca.
Her social profit career started as founding Executive Director of the Volunteer Action Centre of Kitchener-Waterloo and Area. She teaches in and is Co-ordinator of the Certificate Program in Volunteer Management at Conestoga College. In her consulting practice, Reva assists a wide variety of clients to build and sustain strong volunteer programs. As a volunteer, Reva now serves on the Mentor Committee of PAVR-O, and co-ordinates volunteers for special events at local charities.
