Progressive Animal Welfare Services (PAWS) is a compassionate charity based in SW Ontario that is dedicated to ensuring the safety, health, and happiness of our communities during times of crisis. We are currently seeking a passionate and driven individual to join us as a People & Culture Coordinator. In this role, you will have the incredible opportunity to connect with our amazing volunteers and help us expand our reach in the community.

At PAWS, we believe that collaboration is the key to success. As the People & Culture Coordinator, your primary focus will be volunteer recruitment and engagement. Together, we can provide essential support to pet owners, ensuring that their animal companions receive the care they deserve.

What to Expect:

  • Manage all job postings:

    • Create and post job opportunities

  • Candidate review and selection:

    • Screen resumes

    • Conduct phone/video screening

    • Schedule interviews

  • Engagement:

    • Collaborate with P&C team to develop and lead volunteer engagement activities

  • Human Resources:

    • Ensuring files are accurate and up to date

    • Onboarding new volunteers

    • Advise and support team members on all things HR

What you Bring:

  • A Passion for animals and their companions

  • An enthusiasm to all things recruitment and HR

  • Time Management skills

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

  • The ability to communicate with compassion, empathy and clarity

  • Proactive thinking, self-directedness, and a goal-oriented approach that enables you to drive results

  • Experience in Recruiting an asset

Commitment:

  • Term - Minimum 6 months

  • 3 to 4 hours per week

  • Attendance at meetings as necessary
