GROW COOK LEARN WORKSHOP VOLUNTEER OCTOBER 30 | LONDON, ON

Grow Cook Learn is hosting a Thai Butternut Squash Curry workshop on October 30. The overview is as follows: 
4:45pm - Volunteers arrive to aid in workshop preparation. 
Prep may include: arranging tables and chairs, washing produce, arranging ingredients table, arranging equipment, etc. 
5:45 pm - Doors open, participants arrive. Volunteers may help to welcome, and guide participants to seats. 
6:00pm - Workshop begins. Speakers introduce the subject and begin icebreakers. 
6:15pm - Instructions & follow along demontration begins. Volunteers will hand out recipes, cutting boards, knives, and produce for chopping while participants go for hand washing. Volunteers can offer aid to particpants that may require it. 
6:40pm - Participants will progress through the recipe within their groups. Volunteers may be required to aid with participants during this time. Once the recipe is complete, participants and volunteers are encouraged to serve themselves a bowl and socialize. 
8:30pm - Participants will be leaving. Volunteers will help with clean up: clearing tables, cleaning dishes, packing equipment, etc. 

The London Community Resource Centre is a charitable organization based out of London, ON, delivering community programs that promote food literacy.

Our Grow Cook Learn workshops are hands-on cooking classes for community members of all ages. Volunteers will lead cooking demonstrations and teach basic food skills and food literacy to participants. 

We encourage volunteers to apply if they are someone who has a passion for food, nutrition, sustainability, community service, and fostering social change.

Required Qualifications/Training: 
Comfortable with receiving and executing basic-level cooking assignments
Positive attitude/food neutral
Skills Preferred: 
Food handling experience/certification preferred
Attention to detail
Ability to take on and execute tasks independently, and also as a team
Knife skills
Ability to engage with participants (No speaking points given)
