Project Manager

Education:

 

  • A degree or college diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution (university or College) in Engineering, Construction / Contract Management or related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Professional Engineer (P.Eng), or a related professional designation specific to project management with demonstrated project management experience is required.
    • Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence is required.

Experience:

 

  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience managing complex multi-disciplinary projects in a relevant field with minimal direction while effectively balancing political, community and stakeholder interests and meeting project deadlines is required.
    • A minimum of one (1) year of progressive managerial / supervisory experience and / or managing project teams is required.
    • Working knowledge of Ontario Provincial Standards and Specifications (OPSS) and theConstruction Actis required;
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications is required.
    • Ability to communicate with, and build relationships with diverse stakeholder groups including the community, governments and agencies at a political and staff level;
    • Strong budget management and cost control skills; able to address variances and manage ongoing risks while managing multiple deadlines / work processes.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate project status for various audiences.
    • Demonstrated ability to prepare consultant terms of reference and procurement documents.
    • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member to coach staff and work with stakeholders (internally and externally) and negotiate project variance/timelines; ability to deal tactfully and courteously with stakeholders, public officials.
    • Knowledge of and ability tocomply with policies, procedures, collective agreements, and related standards and legislation (e.g., Environmental Assessment Act, Occupational Health and Safety, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act) is required;
    • Proficiency in MS Office suite including online software such as MS teams and SharePoint

 

Compensation and Other Information

 

  • Grade 8: $43.06 to $52.40 per hour;
  • Full time, 35 hours per week;
  • Comprehensive Group Benefits, Pension Plan (OMERS) and Vacation package;
    • Free access to UTRCA Conservation Areas (Fanshawe, Pittock and Wildwood);
    • Start Date: As soon as possible.
